Cookie policy
This website stores your choice for external maps in your browser. A Google Maps map will not load as long as you have not given your consent. You can also use the information about the practice and the contact form without accepting the map. On this page, you can read what is stored locally, when an external service receives data, and how you can change your choice.
Cookies and local storage are not the same
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website can store in the browser and send along with subsequent requests. LocalStorage is another form of browser storage. The map choice of this website uses localStorage, not a cookie with a fixed expiration date. Therefore, the choice can remain even after you have only deleted cookies. When site data is completely cleared, local storage is usually also removed.
What this website stores itself
- Name of the institution: practice-external-maps-v1.
- Possible stored choice: granted (maps allowed) or denied (maps blocked).
- Purpose: to remember whether Google Maps may be loaded on this website.
- Storage method: locally in this browser, without a set automatic expiration date.
This setting does not contain a name, email address, or content of your request. In a new browser profile or on another device, you will need to make a choice again. The setting applies to the relevant web domain. Different practice domains do not automatically share this storage. In the local website preview under one domain, the same choice applies to the practice pages opened there.
If your browser blocks local storage, the website will only try to remember your choice during the current page visit. After reopening, consent may be requested again. In a private window, your browser may delete stored preferences when you close the window. This does not mean that you set your previous choice incorrectly.
Google Maps: only after consent
On contact pages with a map, you will first see an explanation and a consent button. Without consent, no embedded Google Maps map will be displayed there. After granting permission, your browser connects to Google. Google receives, among other things, your IP address and browser data and may use its own storage techniques. The further use of that data falls under Google's privacy and cookie information.
A standalone link to plan a route works differently than an embedded map. Only when you open that link yourself do you visit the external map service. The consent on this website does not manage what happens on the website you subsequently open. You can also read the practice address without loading a map or using a route link.
Allow, refuse, or withdraw
Choose Only necessary if you do not want to load external maps. Allow external maps gives you consent for the map service. At the bottom of each page, there are Cookie settings, where you can reopen the choice. You can use the same controls below. A new choice is immediately applied to the maps embedded on this website.
If you withdraw consent, a loaded map will disappear and will not be re-embedded as long as your choice is set to block. Withdrawing does not delete any data that Google has already received and does not automatically remove all cookies that an external service previously placed. Use the privacy settings of your browser and the relevant service if necessary.
Management login and other services
The private website management has a separate login function. When using it, functional storage may be needed to recognize a logged-in administrator. You do not need to log in to read the public website or make a request. The map choice is not a setting for the administrator account and does not change access rights.
For visitor statistics we use Vercel Web Analytics. This service places no cookies; more about this is in the privacy statement. No advertising trackers have been added to the website. If new external services are integrated later, it must be reassessed which data they use, what consent is required and how this page should be adjusted. A choice for maps does not constitute general consent for future marketing services.
Your form data and privacy questions
The data you consciously send via the contact form is not stored in the map preference. A separate privacy statement applies to this. Deleting browser storage does not remove a previously submitted request from the administration. If you wish to request access or deletion, please contact the relevant practice and mention that it concerns a privacy request.
The official privacy information from Google and the privacy statement of this website can be found in the links at the bottom. For technical assistance in deleting site data, refer to your own browser's manual. You can then check your choice via Cookie settings; without new consent, the map remains blocked.
